Mandorla

Mandorla is a multi-media production of dance theater, live music and video. The satire is a commentary on the lifestyle of the struggling artist. Using desperation, ambition and passion, the work embodies a tangible experience for all audiences. It creates art out of opposites, comedy out of reality and evokes emotion through movement, music and film.

Mandorla Excerpt

Press

Every now and then, I see a production that makes me clasp my hands with delight and I want to send everyone to experience it for themselves.”- Amy Lee Pearsall, NYtheater.com

“A mandorla, for those of you not familiar, is an ancient symbol of two overlapping circles—the space that both inhabits forms an almond. It symbolizes a dance of opposites and a realm where opposing forces can coexist.” – Amy Lee Pearsall, NYtheater.com

“Mandorla is a masterpiece in which she brings together complementary opposites- collaboration and competition, creativity and commerce. It is a pastiche of irreverent, edgy, assertive, estrogen-promoting dance-drama, utilizing music, shapes, forms and video to further inform the tensions of life.” – Sue Salko, theater critic

“In creating this brilliant performance piece, it is very apparent that Ms. Rocha has tapped into a vast treasure of artistic and intellectual capital. Bravo and Thank you!” - Sue Salko, theater critic
